Mr. Larry James FlinchumFLINCHUMWALKERTOWN – Mr. Larry James Flinchum, 62, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Britthaven of Kernersville where he had been in bad health since October 4, 2001 after being hit by a car. He was born in Stokes County on June 26, 1948 to Elwood and Velma Mabe Flinchum and was employed with RJ Reynolds for 18 years. He served his country proudly in the US Marines. Larry attended Sycamore Baptist Church in Walnut Cove. He was an avid race fan where he served on the track crew at Bowman Gray where he loved watching his stepson, Tommy race. He also loved collecting Indian Artifacts. A 5:00 pm graveside service will be held Friday, July 30, 2010 at Walnut Cove Cemetery with military honors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson; Terry Neal. He is survived by his wife of 21 years; Lettie Neal Flinchum of the home, 2 stepsons; Timothy Neal and wife Velinda, Thomas Neal and wife Shelly, 4 step grandchildren; Kevin Neal and wife Lori, Angel Sheets and husband Derek, Brooke Neal and Christopher Neal, 3 step great grandchildren; Riley Neal, Allie and Justin Sheets, 1 son; Joey Flinchum. The family will receive friends from 4-5 pm, Friday, July 30, 2010 at Burroughs Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www. burroughsfuneralhome.com.
