Mr. Stuart Stephenson Hoffman Jr.Mr. Stuart Stephenson Hoffman, Jr., 70, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at his residence.The Elks Lodge 602 will present an Elks Memorial Service at 1:45 PM, Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Guilford College United Methodist Church, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Mr. Hoffman was born December 8, 1939 in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Black Earth, Wisconsin, to the late Stuart Stephenson Hoffman and Emily Harriet Beers Hoffman. He proudly served his country in the US Army as an MP attaining the rank of PFC (E3). He was a member of Guilford College United Methodist Church, and retired from Guilford Mills after 25 years of service. Stuart was a Life Member of the Elks Lodge 602 and involved in the veteran’s program. He was a former player for the Greensboro Generals, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Barbara L. Hoffman of Greensboro, daughter Nichole MacEldowney and husband Tim of Summerfield, sister Ann Brusich of Buford, GA, two granddaughters Morgan Nichole and Abigail Marie MacEldowney, one nephew Jon Brusich of Buford, GA. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel. They will also receive friends following the memorial service at their residence on Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Greensboro Elks Lodge 602 Scholarship Fund in memory of Stu Hoffman, 2201 W. Cornwallis Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408.
